The sun god amatarasu, Is nearing the end of her life Because the human race is trying to steal the power of the sun for their own purposes.

So Amaterasu asks a boy named Ristune to go out and make peace with the people on earth.
Ristune is part of the sun people tribe which have served Amaterasu since the creation of Earth and the Sun. So Ristune faithfully sets out on a journey to recover the pieces of Amaterasus power...

And Ristune should be like this spirit thing at first, but when he gos to earth he has to take disguise as a human...

But Ristune is bounded by the suns rays, and cannot step into shadows/dark places without his sun marble, a gift from Amaterasu that shines light rays. (its like a tiny sun, and maybe gifted later in the story when He finds a piece of her power somewhere dark)

I kind of want Ristunes name to be something like "Sun Boy" in a different language...D:

Since I REALLY love reading about Japanese Myths/history, I decided to use Amaterasu as a main element in this story.. Its just some ideas. I will flesh this idea out in time...So whatre your thoughts? C&C please!

Good comic idea so far. The concept is original too so bonus points for you! I like the idea of gathering the missing pieces of Amaterasu, however you didn't mention a main obstacle or villain. Yes the humans are an obstacle but are there any more types of enemies such as different monsters and Gods?

Will Ristune meet up with any allies along the help him on his journey? Does Ristune have any abilities to help him in a situation or in combat?

Those are just a few questions to help flesh out a really good idea.

I was thinking of adding some other gods who want Amaterasu out of the way so they can claim the throne for themselves. So they send out monsters and stuff like Oni and Kappa to get rid of Ristune...

As for the allies, I was thinking of maybe a little animal or spirit friend who is Ristunes best friend. Also maybe in the series Ristune could pass out, out of hunger because some of the monsters stole his bag while he wasnt watching. So this old couple finds him and notices that he is a Sun Boy since they are very Religious or something. Then they could become his allies and teach him more about the Suns power/origin and help him get a better Idea of where the missing pieces of Amaterasu would be..

As for powers/abilitys honestly I never thought of that. Maybe he should be really awesome with a bow and arrow. And the Arrows are like Infused with sun rays and can only harm the Gods/monsters.

Great idea. The fact that he can't go into shadow throws a nice twist into the story; definitely focus on that. If you do it right, you might not even need a "main" villain, although the idea of other, rival gods would give Ristune plenty of baddies to fend off.

As far as an ally, I think it would be really cool if Ristune befriended someone opposite him; someone who liked the dark. It could be a goth-like person, an albino, or for animals maybe a bat, owl, or mole. They could compensate for his weakness. I'm sure you can think of something creative.

There are tons of directions you can go here. Can't wait to see it!

I really like the idea, I just think how you pull it off, and how silly goose your drawing style is for the story are your biggest points to work on right now.

Also, I don't think it's too wapanese, because it's less Japan for the sake of Japan. I mean, what I consider silly goose is the really shallow, obvious Japanese stuff, like Samurai, ninja, all those.
Amaterasu isn't really up there with the rest of that.
