Hey guys! Ive been like two months thinking about this story bit by bit. So i'm going to try and sit down to put it all together...probably going to make some things up while i go so here goes...I really would look forward for C&C.

PLot:

We are in the year XXXX (future; not sure of the year, yet!), and it it's nothing like most philosophers or graphic novelist predicted. There are no flying cars, no robot domination and there is especially no light made swords "thingis" that go swoosh. Instead we have, in the most, fallen in to a castle age empire with a few gadgetry built by our ancestors. Our Downfall started in what humanity thought was the greatest discovery of all time. The Lg Element. A pure substance that could phase trough all physical states; liquid, gas, and solid just like a more common molecule the we know as water. But Lg was far more! It possessed an alchemical property, changing all other elements it reacted with.

Scientist where fascinated with Lg and couldn't wait to use it in a more practical use, they did and where baffled by the results. They predicted that Lg was going to be the replacement of petroleum, would bring peace between the government and "earth-keepers", bring the cure of cancer and in the least would become the household best friend. Lg did exactly that, it became the worlds lucky charm. You couldn't look around with out seeing Lg at its best. But with what ever the government sees as powerful must turn it in to a weapon.

War broke out, Lg at the front line but some how they felt that the power of Lg wasnts enough just a nother ordinary weapon, so military scientist came with a marvelous idea* they turned Lg in to a drug which they called Lg boosters and injected it to "volunteers" they called it the LoG program, but they noticed that for the first time Lg had its limitations, it didn't mix well with human xy chromosomes and made dreadful mutations to the test subjects.

After another and other experiment failures scientist discovered Lg was no our next step in evolution and ceased the LoG program. They where wrong because slowly and sporadicly mothers who were often exposed to Lg artifacts while in pregnancy where producing baby's with a new count of chromosomes that doctors called as xy'g. LoG Program was reinstated and the xy'g subjects were more than successful, there special chromosome allowed them to create a unique weapon which for every subject was different and could control at will. The governments called them "The Knights of Arthur".

So war engaged in a much different lvl but the governments didn't foresee that the knights where more destructive than a nuclear bomb, and even more dangerous because it had a mind of its own. But full with greed the governments kept on the war slowly destroying everything humanity had build until then. And that brings us to this day.

(Actual Plot)
But the story, I Edgar Reeves, is going to tell you is about a young man and women, who go against all odds to become Knight of Arthur and the adventures that await them.

< There are more xy'g humans in the world than xy in XXXX so not everyone can become a Knight of Arthur.

Characters:

Alexander : Very Mellow guy, recently off age 16, wants to become knight of arthur because of free food, easally gets agitated by best friend. Secret PAst!

Gwen: Very Hyper girl, recently off age 16, wants to become knight of Arthur because she wants to change the world, easally manipulated by best friend. Secret PAst!

Er : "edgar Reeves" very smart crazy, tough philosopher, who bumps in to Gwen and Alexander and befriends, is in his late 20. Already knight of arthur.

So I don't have a villain YET! and no serius plot!!!! But weirdly already started the name/...lol * coming soon*

Chemical elements do not work that way.
Petroleum does not work that way.
Cancer does not work that way.
Chromosomes do not work that way.

Nothing works that way.

If you are going to do a science fiction story, it helps to do a little bit of research first. Yes, even for light science fantasy. It's still called science fantasy.

I thought since Lg is a new element (that humans didn't find in the periodic table, its not man made) had alchemy abilities it could create new things.
Also i thought it could be a natural energy source therefore replaces petroleum.
Cancer I get it... i was exaggerating a bit there...
but arent chromosome's dna? therefore chemical bonds, therefore manipulated by Lg... and xy'g is just a name, g is added beacouse of Lg

I may be wrong... but i thought it was ok....

For light science fantasy I see little wrong with ascribing crazy and impossible powers to some fictional new element. That said, however, the exact properties of Lg are vague and contradictory. In order to be realistic a work of fiction does not need to be accurate to reality, but it does need to be consistent. Fantasy especially. Consistency is the most important thing in any work of fantasy or science fiction - consistency is what lends your story believability and allows the audience to suspend disbelief.


You ascribed it the ability to shift around in phase. That's all well in good, but in and of itself would not generate power.


Chromosomes are basically bundles of DNA and protein and passed on from parents. X and Y chromosomes are sex chromosomes. A male has an X and a Y chromosome, while a female has two chromosomes. Damage to chromosomes leads to severe birth defects like downs' syndrome. Also if I am not mistaken an additional functional chromosome would essentially render you non-human. I'm not sure if you could produce viable offspring at that point.

And the point is also about the consistency thing. There is nothing unique in a chromosome - of any sort - that cannot be found in other things. Humans do not contain anything particularly rare or uncommon - chemically speaking - within them. Well, in terms of chemical elements, anyway.

So how can i make Lg more consistent?
Then how can I make humans have so to say an allergic reaction to Lg?

You need to define Lg more, like Kodos said.

You could probably keep the "changing all other elements it reacted with" and change it a bit to suite your story and drop the "A pure substance that could phase trough all physical states; liquid, gas, and solid" and give the Lg some chemical properties so it could be used as a power source replacing the petroleum ^^. And pointing at what kodos said about chromosomas, if you want some mutating reaction in the human body out of injecting people with it, you would want the Lg to affect the DNA, cuz is a macromolecule that contains the genetic information of the living beigns, or simply have the Lg contains some virus that mutates the human body.
