Hey everybody I have a proposition that may interest you!

I’m starting my own mangazine called ‘Rated T’ and I need artist and writers to help me out, it’s a great opportunity to get your work out there for everyone to see! It’d basically be a collection of manga’s made by you. It doesn’t matter how well you draw, just draw something out and send it to me. You can also write articles if you prefer. If you’re interested in doing so just send me a message.

I worked in a free magazine one time and I should say that "it suck everything of you". Well it was a magazine of anime, manga, geek stuffs and conventions and I went to every convention, take pictures, talk with people, etc. The get back home and make the article.

No offense meant, but it is very poor form to ask for artists and writers to give you work with no promise of paying them for it. Are you actually going to get this publish and in wide circulation? And are you going to make a profit on it?

Oh No! I don't make a single dime, it wouldn't be right for me to make profit off of someone else! I just want to start a little online mangazine where people put little manga skits or whatever together and post it monthly or weekly, it could be tips, articles whatever and the author/artist would receive full credit and links to all of his/her works. It's just something to sorta make a name for yourself, that's all.

Does the magazine have a site or something ?

Actually no, I just thought it would be a fun idea to throw it out there and see if anyone was interested, it's okay if no one wants to, I could do it by myself.

Just wanted to say that I voted 'Never'. Not because I wouldn't give it a read, however; it's mainly due to the fact that it'll likely never get published where I live. (If it even gets published, that is. Non-profit in the comics industry will only lead to the inevitable fail.)

-Making a magazine alone is hard, almost impossible if you don't know anything about programation, design and also give you the time to read and make good critics.

-You need to make a plan of what are you gona work, find people (who will not work free) and you need to make a plan of the population you are aiming.

-You also need to be constant (like, one time every 2 months don't work in these days).

-You should start with a blog.

Thanks for the advice! But I'm not aiming to be the next Times Magazine...just something simple! Probably won't have much time to do it right now, just finished a manga script and need to do some drawing ASAP!

Tell ya what, if I get three more no's then I'll drop it and do a more managable project!

Sounds to me like you need to get a bit more knowledge/experience under your belt before attempting something like this. You won't get far in the business world if you don't first take the time to understand it and how it works.

The knowledge under the belt is the only knowledge that count.
