Sophia spent the dying years of her childhood indoors, hiding from her mother's clientele, who would just as often take what they wanted as pay for it. Sophia could hide no longer when her mother died, brutally strangled by a patron. Sophia was fifteen. She took her mother's place, selling her body for food and scant protection. Five years on, she runs five successful brothels, setting up security procedures that mean the girls are safe. She insists each man wear a condom, and washes himself before and after in the sinks she installed in every room. She has women in each brothel whos job it is to kill any man who attacks one of her girls. Men die weekly, though much fewer now than at the beggining. Word is spreading. She doesn't take the money for herself; each girl keeps every dollar she earns. Sophia isn't a pimp, merely a woman who has grown up understanding what an incredible comodity her body is. And it doesn't hurt that she has earned herself a few scary friends.
