Guided by the snouts of the Worgs, the Gnolls and Worgs split up into two groups and moved through the fog, instructions being relayed to the Gnolls in their own language by the Worgs.

Apparently Vivien is incapable of foaming at the mouth.

Vivien got distracted by the pretty flowers and did nothing of use.

Running into place as well, the other Gnolls also closed on Ramirez, two of them swinging and missing.

Ramirez had now taken two knocks to the head, and it was getting annoying and somewhat painful. He had suddenly acquired a blurred field of vision.

So he ran away from the gnolls, turned off his invisibility, and shouted to Alberto at the top of his voice: "KILL THEM!"

Licking his lips, Vivien adjusted his grip on his morningstar and charged once more, straight at the enormous gnoll he assumed to be Grub Eye. It was a good hit, at the Frost weapon left the gnoll's fur clumped with crystallized blood.

Attack
1d20+13+3+2=38
Critical Hit (Success)
1d20+13+3+2=26
Damage
2*(1d8+13)+1d6=33
Image

Grub Eye's HP: 41

Bringing his large morningstar around, Grub-Eye smashed the weapon twice into the young priest, for considerable damage.

The portly assassin weaved his way behind the distracted Grub-Eye, notched a bow to his arrow, and shot it into the muscular gnoll from five feet away.

Spoiler! :
TO HIT: 1d20+22=29
DAMAGE: 10d6+8=49
Grub-Eye's HP: -8

The Gnoll was close to death, as one would expect after an arrow had gone through the back of his skull and passed out through his eye.

Kodos says combat is over.

Ramirez put his bow back onto his back and hacked off Grub-Eye's head with his short-sword, narrowly avoiding spilling blood all over himself, and shook the head until the flow of claret ceased. The lesser gnolls, freed from the blade barrier by now, were running rapidly towards the horizon.
"Now that rotter Gnoll's dead, shall we head back to the lovely Helena?"

Vivien didn't respond at first. He was holding his hands together in front of his chest, murmurring softly to himself, eyes closed. When he was finished, he looked up. "I am sure Grand Crusader Almaric would be most satisfied if we returned to her promptly. I am so pleased that the Saint's justice and granted us success in this mission."

And so you headed back to Durham Monastery, Grub-Eye's head in tow.

You were directed once again to Helena's office. The woman had her back to you all, staring out the window.

"You have his head?"

Vivien bowed deeply. "Yes, Grand Crusader Almaric."

"I do. What do you want with his head, anyway?"

Helena was going to say something mean...

"A yes or no would have done. Thank you Bellerose."

"I do not like your attitude, Aquila, and I like you even less. If you cannot learn to control your tongue, I suggest you remove it. If one's hand compels them to steal, then it is better to hack it off than live a life of sin. If one's tongue compels one to blather on endlessly annoying those who actually have better things to do than listen to the mewling of drooling idiots, than better to cut it out than to tax the patience of those who already have much work to do."

She turned to face you all, brushing aside some of her long blonde hair. Again, one could not help but note how pretty she was. And how much more terrifying she was.

"This world is a madhouse of demons, devils, madmen, heathens, and monsters. This world makes sense only when we force it to."

"And that is exactly what our job is. We do what we must so that we can all make sense of this madhouse. As St. Cuthbert wills us to bring order out of chaos, so we shall impose some sense and sanity into this world."

"What we do here is part of that. Soon we shall assault the gates of Therion. It would be beneficial to us if he did not have reinforcements coming from this place. The corpses he gathers here will be raised later as vile undead abominations and sent into battle against us."

"That is partly why I asked you to kill Grub-Eye. Another reason is because I wanted to make sure you were not completely worthless. And I asked you to bring me his head because I require proof. There is nothing in all the multiverse as worthless and ephemeral as the words of mortal men."

"Are you satisfied, Aquila? Have I explained my orders to you to your satisfaction? Or are you still going to waste my time with your pointless questions? Must you reveal to us all just how deep the depths of your ignorance and insubordination are?"

She never once raised her voice.
That made it worse. :(
