"I will remain silent if it displeases you, Lady Helena."
Ramirez was sweating profusely from everywhere but his face. Gods but she was beautiful. Gods but she was terrifying.

She somehow gave him a Look without ever actually turning to actually look at him.

"It would be advisable. And if you think you can hide your snark behind clever wordplay, Aquila, you cannot. You are treading on thin ice, Assassin, and if you do not learn to control yourself, I shall be forced to teach you."

"People are often like the world, Mr. Aquila; they tend to only make sense when we force them to. Will you start making sense, Mr. Aquila, or will I have to force you to?"

Oh god. She actually turned to look at him now! FFFF

"Here's a tip, Aquila, if the next words out of your mouth are not simple 'Yes, ma'am, I will start making sense.' and no more then I may have to start forcing you to make sense."

"So, Aquila, I ask you for the second and what I promise you will be the last time: Will you start making sense?"

Ohshit ohshit. She was cleverer than she looked.
"Yes, ma'am, I will start making sense."

"That is very well, Aquila. We won't be having any further problems, will we Aquila?"

She gave him another Look. This one said "I'm not giving you a hint this time, shithead, but I think you can figure out the correct response."

Ohshit more questions why did Ramirez have to be born smart and sarcastic.
"No, Ma'am, we will not be having any further problems."

"That is also well, Mr. Aquila."

She took the head from him and put on her desk before turning her attention over to Alberto.

"You. Robert. I imagine you need to recharge your spells and restock your components, yes? And I assume the same is true of you, Bellerose. Very well. You are all dismissed. I trust you can manage to find the common barracks on your own, and if you can't you can go ask someone."

"If any of you need me, I will be here. Unlike you my work goes on."

"If you do not require anything else of me tonight, I shall see you all next tomorrow morning. First thing. Do not make me come get you."

She could make your heart beat faster for two very different reasons. What a gal.

Alberto gave a short bow and hurried out of the room, he'd rather not be made a show of like Ramirez.

Ramirez fled the room at as slow a pace as possible that could still be considered fleeing.

Vivien gave another, quick bow, then followed after the others.

Because you were not thundering idiots, you were in Helena's office first thing int he morning.

She was already wearing her chainmail armor, which despite her best efforts still could not conceal her lovely figure. The bastard sword slung across her back did help her intimidating factor, though.

"You're on time. Good." She rose to approach you all again, standing before you, as intimidating and beautiful as last time.

"Today we are going to attack Aylesbury. The city fell to Therion's forces at about the same time as Doré itself. Much of it is still in ruins from Skade's attack, but already Therion's agents, Snarlmane, undead, and otherwise, have moved in. The city is a major stronghold of his in the region, and frequently he is launching attacks on our agents in Doré proper from it. This will not stand."

"We will be attacking the city. Today. You three will be my strike team. You shall report directly to me and do exactly as I say. If I tell you to attack a dragon with your teeth, you will do it without a moment's hesitation. I do not demand from you anything I myself am unwilling to do. I am in command and I shall see to it that His will is made manifest - by any means necessary."

"Before I continue, I trust there are no problems or questions?"

"No problems or questions Ma'am." Alberto said. Hoping he didn't somehow offend the nice lady.

"That is well."

"You, acting as my strike team, shall be joined by Ms. Vaudry, one of my soldiers, as well as two others who have come into my service via recommendation, much as you have. I sincerely hope they are at least as competent as you lot - for your sakes more than mine."

"Intelligence suggests that there is an undead necromancer inside what was once the city's town hall. I shall most likely require that you destroy this blasphemy. It is likely that a large number of the undead forces there were directly animated by it, and that it's destruction shall also bring about their destruction or, at the very least, cause them to become more manageable and unintelligent. Either way, you shall stay by my side until I tell you otherwise."

"I believe they are waiting for you in the gardens outside the monastery. If there is nothing else, you are dismissed. I have some final preparations to make before the battle. When I have assembled the rest of the troops I shall call for you. Do not keep me waiting."

"If there are no final questions, you are all dismissed. I suggest you rendezvous with Vaudry and discuss some sort of plan. Particularly you, Wizard." She gave Alberto the slightest of nods. "I imagine you will want to prepare your spells wisely, I doubt the battle will afford you an opportunity to study your spellbook should you change your mind."

Ramirez fled the room slowly again. It was beginning to become his trademark.

As usual, Vivien bowed respectfully and retreated.
