Both major religions featuring reincarnation state the final goal as not being reincarnated anymore as in reincarnation is bad.

Although being reincarnated as a demi-godly spiritual thing sounded pretty awesome to me.

That said, the answer is obvious. Heaven. By definition. Heaven is the most pleasurable place that lasts forever. By definition everyone will choose Heaven.

Iain M. Banks' latest Culture novel actually deals with Heaven & silly goose and life after death, amusingly enough.

Can you proove the mind exists? No. Same thing. A soul isn't physical. It's metaphysical. It's like all of your emotions. You can't possibly say emotiond don't exist.

Nothing is the way to go if you're not a scaredy cat. I'm pretty sure with the afterlife being nothing, you don't have to worry about nothing. Or getting beat up by God, or falling out of clouds, committing super-adultery and being dropped to silly goose...stuff like that.

I can prove that the mind exists, yes. First of all, it kind of comes along with the rejection of solipsism. Cogito ergo sum. I have a mind, and you are physically - more or less - identical to myself, ergo you too likely have a mind. Plus I can observe electrochemical activity in your brain and note how changes to it correspond with changes in your mind-state. A mind cannot be conclusively proven - just like anything a posteriori - but it can be proven beyond reasonable doubt.

The mind is physical. It is a thing that is born from the interplay of electrochemical signals in the brain.


And I'd argue then that for you oblivion is heaven.

No. Heaven is a place. A physical place. If it does exist. Nothing is nothing.
