indeed, giant robots would be inefficient.

This is why most robots are smalls, like bug size to some inches.

I think the topic is between Gundams and Antropomorphic Robotos (example: Medabot) in the reality.

Maybe a Gundam would be impossible (for now)
but maybe something like this can be done

That's just a Gundam that isn't a Gundam xD...

Most people here on MT will tell you bipedal mechs are COMPLETELY impossible...most people meaning Kodos. But he hasn't been around lately, consider yourself lucky.

I would say something from MechWarrior or that other mech game would be more plausible atm.
Or you know...walking tanks aka. Tachi/Fuchikoma's GITS

The entire time I was playing mechwarrior I wondered why the tanks didn't just surround me and wait for me to starve to death inside my robot. But instead they are like cardboard boxes with treads that you can just stomp on and whatnot.

You know. I'm making a robot based on an anime because it's small and actually doable.

At my knowledge, if that need a pilot then would mean is a Gundam.

And any Gundam thats need bipedal movement, a head limited to 90º and using arms as a human, is going to be impossible.

Also, as I said even a bipedal tank is useless.

Some definitions.
Robot:is a virtual or mechanical artificial agent. This mean, is a computarized tool able to be in autonomous (no AI, but able to make what is programed to).
Gundam: is an advanced, high performance mobile suit. Basically a high tech armor.

it could be possible.
but the main issue is that you would need a goddamn powerplant to power the damn thing (same thing goes for laserguns and lightsabers)
so unless they turned a nuclear reactor into one of those things (wich would be a VERY bad idea), that won't be possible.
however, there is hope. At the moment scientists currently working on the nanobattery.
basicly it's a unexaustable source of power that fits in a iPod.
But don't expect to see it next year or something. more like a few decades.
then there's the other problem.
the mechas you see in manga and anime are based on humaniod shapes, for combat this would be very unefficient.
instead, they would look more like tanks with legs, like in Chrome Hounds or Mech-Assault.

and it would probably have artificial intelligence instead of a human pilot.

Maybe something like this. Maybe. But full humanoid mechs would require more advanced technology than we have or are likely to develop for quite a while.
