Some awesome bands that you listen to, and how you found out about them to begin with.

1: Kamelot: Song in the background of a DMC3 combo video was "When the lights are down"...thus I came to know about Kamelot.
2: All That Remains: Listening to the radio. Metalix came on (a program that comes on at about midnight, nothing but metal).
3: Linkin Park: Stayed up late at night watching MTV when the video for "Breaking The Habit" came on.
4: Rammstein: Normal radio. KBPI 106.7. "Du Hast" came on at one point, and awesomeness ensued.
5: Static-X: Normal radio. "I'm With Stupid" played and it was just BEAST...

anyways, etc.

Metallica: Lsitenin' to a country station, they played their whole Load and Reload albums.

1.- Rush: They are awesome.
2.- Stevie ray Vaughand and Double trouble: watching some epic guitar players on youtube.
3.- Gogol Bordelo: Sharing punk songs with a friend.
4.- Electric Six: I found the video of GayBar and I though it was epic for LOL.
5.- Mars Volta: I was watching a music fest on tv and there was this epic singer and a great experimental sound that just hook me.

2. Weezer- man I've known them forever. I first heard them a lot on radio disney when I was a wittle child
3. Animal Collective- some random music forum I was lurking, and saw the band being mentioned a lot so I checked them out
4. Surfer Blood- last.fm scrobbler<3
5. Arctic Monkeys- when I was like 8 or 9 I found teddy picker through..I don't even know. playlist.com or something, idk

I find allmost all the things i listen to on Last.fm. Or i look up a person on there then see who is similar and go listen to them off of youtube and if i like it i go get it.

1. Of Montreal--I was first introduced to them by a friend: Dan, the Great Soul. But didn't listen much until my boyfriend made me listen to "Gallery Piece" at any bar with a super search juke box. Fell in love from then on.
2. The Shins--no, not the Garden State. My mom, I swear, listens to the best music. She discovered them and turned me on to them. Same would happen for the next two groups.
3. The Decemberists--Mi madre
4. Kasabian--same.
5. David Bowie--he appeared to me as a flaming bush and showed me all that was good in the world, made sweet booty to me, then turned into an alien and teleported back to Mars.

I like your list. I missed my chance to see Bordelo in St. Louis! His mustache kills fascists. I like Mars Volta, too, but don't know much of their stuff. I think they were on El búfalo de la noche soundtrack.





Another awesome list. I just heard about Surfer Blood recently--but I love Weezer! And MGMT and Arctic Monkeys! Amazing.

1. Dragonforce - Discovered them through my friends myspace back when they just brought out Sonic Firestorm. Been to every gig in my city since then. Met the band twice.
2. Rammstein - Seen "Sonne" on Kerrang god knows how many years ago. Been obsessed since then.
3. Unheilig - Heard "Geboren um zu Leben" on a flipnote on the DSi. Did a song check on it with my phone and hunted them down.
4. E Nomine - I actually think Delphinus got me hooked on them. >>
5. Infected Mushroom - Friend sent me "Power of Celtics" back in '07. Downloaded everyone of their albums since then. Adore IM <3

I found them when I was at HMV and their CD was under new releases and I was like, oh a canadian band imma get this and it was amazing.

Um, I found out about Arctic Monkeys when they released their first album. I came across them on the internet somehow and heard "I bet you look good on the dance floor" and I thought, this is pretty cool. So I picked up the album. I don't remember much of the details though because I was in like, grade 7 when it came out.

1. Disturbed - My bro was listening to them. Awesome.
2. Led Zeppelin - Grew up with my mom listening to them.
3. Queen - Grew up with my mom listening to them

Basically all the music I know and love I grew up with, (with a few exceptions) because I love all the classic rock and roll. XD

A few more bands: Pink Floyd, Queensryche, Rush, ACDC, Black Sabbath, Rob Zombie, Europe, Kansas, Boston, Green Day, Iron Maiden, Billy Talent etc.
