@ Gunzet
If you ever replace your ruler, you should get a metal one. That way it'll never break.

(Though a clear plastic ruler is convenient since you can see through it...)

lol, heres some of the stuff I've used. I don't really get that much art stuff, although I do want some inking pens and acrylics and canvases:

-ballpoint pen
-crayola coloured pencils
-crayola markers
-tablet
-cheap watercolors (I lost the brush though, so now I can't use it...)
-paint tool sai, and gimp for editing and stuff
-some book on colouring I guess, but I haven't read it since last summer
EDIT:

oh oh! and sometimes I use ms paint and gb

- Mechanical and ordinary pencils
- Watercolours/acrylics
- Watercolour and cartridge paper
- Various paintbrushes
- Coloured pencils
- Unipen fineliners
- Tablet
- Photoshop elements

I want to get a version of photoshop/other program better suited for drawing since the one I have is better for photo edits :/ but I dunno what to get that won't completely break the bank.
Any ideas anyone?

(oh and I use a mac)

Yeah, Rio's right. Metal rulers are great because they don't break and the edges don't warp.

I have a metal ruler. I brought it to school to use in art class and got it banned because it was considered a weapon.

But it's a really good ruler, and it doesn't get chips in it like the wood ones they give you in school or the ones at the dollar store.

The only downside: you can cut yourself it you're not careful with it. Mine is sharper than most of the knives in my house. Literally.
