A rapier isn't all that long - only about three feet, compared to five or six feet for others. You can use it at high speeds because it's really light. Well, it's not light at first, but it would be for someone who was skilled enough to use more than one at a time. A rapier and a dagger together makes for an amazing combination - you can use the dagger to parry and the rapier to thrust, or parry with the rapier and use the dagger to get close enough to the opponent that he can't get you effectively with his sword. If you opponent has two daggers, his reach is fairly short and a skilled fighter and get him really easily.

My instructor did florentine style at demonstrations and it was amazing. I was with that dueling club for a year and barely made it to intermediate with my epee. Made me envy my friend from the same club who kicked ass with a schlager and a polearm.

Hey, would you use a Jutte, Sai, or Manriki to fight someone throwing knives?

Keris are ancient weapons in my country. Often used only by kings or very important persons at that time. It's basically a dagger with lots of curves, so it's unsuitable to be used as a "real" weapon...

But it's said that carrying it (so you could keep it inside the scabbard and use other weapon) often grants you amazing power (immortality, invincibility, invisibility, and so on). Kinda like Excalibur. Of course we don't know if it's real or not... The more curves it has, the more amazing power that it holds.

Strange women laying in ponds distributing weaponry is no basis for a system of government, Mr. Arthur.

Bow-blades are cool(although I'm not sure if they were ever used, or even made in anything other then fictional works, and I can't find any images) basicaly, it's a bow with blades on it(there are a number of ways this could be done), so it can be used as either a double sword or a bow.

@Bacon Barbarian:
I know. What I mean is it works like Excalibur (its scabbard to be exact).

Yeah, now that you explain a way to fight with them, it does sound pretty cool. Cause the way I want it is 2 people in an almost equal match, but the one who has the rapier is going to be better. So would anyone know of weapons with mythical powers from mythical creatures? Like I was thinking of a dagger with a unicorn's horn, but I'm not sure if that would give it any battle effective moves.

Hmm, you could create odd looking staves, halberds, or my favorite, the meteor hammer, and ancient Chinese weapon probably most known for it's appearance in Kill Bill. - Gotta check that out. XD

Hope this helps and good luck.

Ok. You can forget about the mythical weapon ideas. I made one up just recently. Though I've got to ask. What does the meteor hammer do? (other than smash things of course).

Katars and pata swords are interesting weapons, they're both like swords, but have a vertical grip. There is also the haladie, which is dagger with two blades, one on each end of the handle. An interesting sword is the kora sword, which up until the tip of the sword seems normal, the tip looks like an axe. I find Indian weapons the most intriguing, lots of odd designs backed up with surprising functionality.

Is the end of the kora sword for strong impact?

I'm not really sure, what little information I can find doesn't specify, but it was apparently used in combat as well as sacrificial purposes apparently. The blade is also apparently heavy so it must be able to withstand substantial impacts. here's a link to a small amount of info as well as some pictures of it sheathed and unsheathed. I should also note that this weapon is probably the basis of the sword used by Zodd from Berserk.
