are you saying that small details are not a progression?

No, but a small habit like putting my pencil down and picking it up again everytime I use the eraser doesn't exactly have much to do with the progression of my life when compared to say, moving to a different country.

Also, I said it could be about anything artistic, not just drawing, which is completely different from the other topic.

then you haven't read the other topic.

For my this is just the same than the other, and you just want to defend this thread of me in pointless way because you are not very good making arguments.

Just answer the question, no need to take this thread off topic.

All my drawing phases have either been furious attempts to get better after looking at art gods on DA, or subconsciously self-induced art blocks.

@_@ sometimes my own mind is the cause of it. I must be insane.

Dude, just let the thread go on, it'll die eventually, besides you made your point.

I can picture you in a military uniform in an apocalyptic action movie right now.

1. When I first learned about manga (from pokemon), I started drawing really bad comic shorts. As it lumps for hands and feet with dots for eyes. I was little.
2. I started drawing manga. It seemed more flexible and creative than realism. I made some characters up, even a little comic.
3. My first how-to-draw manga book. I learned about shapes and guidelines but didn't take it seriously. Still, I got way better.
4. Took a break, then got back. Took guidelines and proportions seriously, got better, but sadly my drawings looked less like what was in my head.
5. Long artists block.
6. I literally just entered this phase yesterday. Got a book with realistic drawing exercises, did the "pre-instruction" self portrait. To my amazement, it actually looked like me! It wasn't perfect, but I was quite pleased. Next exercise is drawing a hand. (T_T).
