Hello everyone i was wondering if someone could help me

First i am left handed and when i draw on paper i smudge A LOT i sometimes smudge so much i dont even have to shade because it already has a film of graphite on it... What can i do to reduce the smudging (Techniques, Any kind of glove or something?)

Second Christmas is coming up and i want to get a Graphic Tablet but i dont know which one to choose. I have been looking at the Intuos4 Medium as people say it is the best choice, but is it really? I want to make sure i get the right tablet.

The intuos 4 is a really nice tablet. Medium is the perfect size, also. Not to big, not to little.

I have an intuos 4 medium and I love it more than anything in the world <3
I'm also left-handed, and I had the problem with smudging for so long with no way to avoid it that I now draw with the paper turned upside down. Not the best solution. -.-'''

It should come with a plastic sheet that protects the drawing area, so that should be safe.

If you have a large workspace, get a large one, you will have a lot more space to draw with your whole arm rather than just a wrist movement.
About smudging, have you tried drawing on an easel? Standing up? I know it's pretty stupid to stand up and draw if you're working on A4 size or so, but it can be a solution for you and btw! I'm left handed too :)

I won't recommend getting a larger tablet simply because you have a large workspace. For some people, larger tablet doesn't necessarily means better (besides the price differences could be very steep). Visit some local stores where you could try their tablets. Find the best dimension for you.

About smudging, I also have the same problem. But if you already use tablet, you won't have to worry about it anymore.

I don't really get why smudging is a left hand problem, couldn't you just start drawing from right-top corner of a paper? I'm right handed so I always start from the left-top corner to avoid smudging

But I can really recommend intuos4 M, I have one and it's really easy to use and program

I use clear tape and put in on my hand. Insta-smudge guard! I beats shifting paper every time you move your hand.

As someone already said, you can't go wrong with any tablet. Pick one that you're comfortable with size-wise and price-wise. ...But if you've got money to burn, I highly recommend this. :drooooooool:

That's also one of my table of dream ^_^
Though spec-wise, I still prefer Intuos... But it's cool to use Cintiq (and it will make all people drool).

If anyone ever gets the Cintiq here, you've got to share unboxing pics or videos! I'd totally be all over it. : D..........
