95% of the reason why I still play Fallout 3 is because it is a modder's haven (on the PC). And yes there are people who mod this game and use it for references more than they actually play. I play more than I mod but I am installing new mods all the silly goose time. It's like an endless supply of free candy!

http://fallout3nexus.com

I've gotten every mod under the sun from that website for this game, including new missions, more weather, character skins, better AI programming, modernized weapons, realism mods, a vast array of clothes, hairstyles, eye colors...the list goes on and on.

I saw that people figured out ways to pose characters in whatever positions they wanted, so I think the game will be a valuable resource for references, definitely. I will be learning how to make the poses soon.

I've gotten some amazing screenshots from this game. So if you're interested, give it a shot and remember to checkout the Fallout 3 Nexus site for an absolutely amazing supply of resources to use.

OK I figured some new things out! : )

To do reference poses, make sure you have the following programs:

- Fallout 3 (go buy it! NOW! XD )
- Blender (free www.blender.org )
- NifSkope + scripts for FO3 (free) (http://sourceforge.net/projects/niftool ... f_scripts/)
- Fallout Mod Manager by Timeslip. (Free) I have this already and it's a lifesaver in terms of mod organization. (http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=640)
- kfupdater by tazpn (for converting animations to a format FO3 will recognize should you want to do them after you learn to do poses! http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=496)

Download this pre-rigged skeleton designed for FO3: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6968

Open that skeleton file (.blender I believe) in Blender and play around with it to make a pose. If you haven't learned to use Blender yet, now would be a good time to look at tutorials concerning tools.

Read the rest of the article here if you are interested

I would love to see results people come up with!
