We all know how white gel pens and white paint can instantly take a boring, generic drawing, and make it into a SHINYKAWAIIDESU masterpiece....

I've been on the hunt for a white gel pen that applies a thick coat of gel to the paper, and is not transparent like some others that I have tried. I have also used the Sakura Pen-Touch paint pen, but it is also translucent when applied (and smelly, and messy, and has a short life span).

What is your favorite brand of white gel pen?

I also have a small jar of Deleter White #1 that I bought in Japantown to experiment with. I noticed that there are different numbers of White, and I was curious if anyone knew the properties of each number. Also, what is your favorite method for applying it? Do you water it down before, or apply it straight?

Thank you!

I use a Sakura Gelly-Roll white gel pen. It works great and lasts a long time. Some people use whiteout and gouache, too.

Oh, and the white-out resists pigment, too. So if you want to use the white for correction so you can go back over it, don't use white-out.

Hmmm... is that so? Never heard of that term. I'll have to remember it. <--- someone who's only worked with acrylics and only for a very brief time

I probably spelled it wrong xD But basically it's opaque watercolors. You can do alot of stuff with it.

Well I've worked with acrylics a bit. I wouldn't really suggest using acrylics for comic purposes as you can't really draw over it. You basicly putting a white layer of plastic over the paper so once it's down you can't really go back over it.

When I silly goose up on shoes, I'll put acrylic over the mistake and draw over the acrylic. Seems to work just fine.
