Hey, I want to draw a battle scene with swords and all, and I have all the guidelines down but I cant draw bloody wounds or spraying blood from a sword slash. If I try I epicly fail... :[ I have looked for hours to find a tutorial and there is absolutely nothing helpful on the internet. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the effort! i have seen Kenshin but it's not to bloody... Im thinking more along the lines of Elfen Lied, Berserk, Ninja Scroll or Shigurui Death frenzy (all for adults) I want to learn to draw blood like that...

Ever read Legend of the Seven Star Sword (the sequel of Legend of the Wind)? Nearing the last chapter, the mangaka uses uncommon technique. Kinda like spraying ink from toothbrush. The result is good but it's hard to do (I've tried it several times but couldn't spray it in the exact location I want.

Yes I have seen this before. It's used alot actualy, But it's hard to perfect and can make a huge mess... It works well to get a "splat" look but not so much of a wound spraying blood. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Here's my try at making a step-by-step explanation on how to do this. Note however that I do not possess much experience in terms of drawing blood and wounds, but this is how I would do it.
Also, the works you mentioned are, as far as I know, very detailed and the artists probably take a lot of time to get the job done. There is no secret technique to this result, only hard work.

Excellent! That helps loads! Now that I have the basic concept I will work on it till I get it down... I already figured out the mistakes I was making and I have nothing but time. But if you can find another tutorial thats a litle more fool proof or somthing with more detail. I would be very thankful.

The problem with blood and other spraying liquids is they're somewhat predictable, but at the same time absolutely not. All you can do is get down the general direction of the spray like UFaction showed and then add your streams and dropletts.
I recomend, instead of searching the ends of the earth for a tutorial, to do some experiments on your own and find out what works for you and your style. Get some colored water or paint and drip it on some paper and observe. Go outside with a hose or a bucket of water and just toss it around for a while and observe. Observation, study and practice are key!

Watch Saving Private Ryan.

Everything you'd ever need to know about blood is in that film.
