well this is about what type of art you started with and what changed about it along the way

for example, ME

well I started out as a kid drawing technical stuff, my dad is a big Trekkie, and BS Galactica fan, and StarWars fan, and used to be a big WWII enthusiast I guess.
So I grew up around a crapload of scifi and war movies, he also had a large collection of Dyecast cars and battleship models, I used to play with those.
So anyway, I grew up drawing battleships and planes in dogfights on the sides of cardboard boxes, and later on I grew into Toonami.

Toonami shaped my anime style art a lot before it's departure (RIP)
I got attached to every and any Gundam series, the first one I saw was Gundam Wing and from then on I started drawing Gundams
Later I discovered DBZ and that became the basis of how I drew my human characters, super spiky hair for no reason, baggy fighting pants and huge muscles.
To be honest I remember around 5th grade I was busy tracing DBZ art that I printed from the net.

In Middle School my Gundam art was in full blast, and was also influenced by a lot more anime, Beyblade was one I remember.
I was practicing practicing practicing, and so around 7th grade I made a manga I called Rusted X-1, it was about mechs >_> that is all on that.

9th Grade I was busy being the best in my class because I was able to learn new tricks so easily, I started another manga, and it was about demons, it was called Black Sun: Midnight
in my sophomore and junior year I started on another mech manga called Last Syorans, and then after that I made another manga which was my final one, called HIT, it was about fighting lol. This was mostly because around those years I fell in love with Neon Genesis Evangelion and Tenjou Tenge

Close to the end of my Junior year in HS I abandoned anime for my new love in art. Concept art. And this was and still is the biggest turning point. Recently I've been trying to retrieve my anime style of art because I miss how simple it is lol, CA is so complex -_-

anyway, for anyone who read all of that, BRAVO, now post yours ;)

Age 5 or 6 : As a kid I started by copying pictures from my favourite books of animals and stuff

Age 8 or so : I would draw my cat alot, along with some other animals but this time not copied.

Age 12 : Then, a little later, I used to watch lots of pokemon and would draw that sort of stuff in like super anime style.

Age 13 : I got out of that and started trying to learn anatomy and realism and stuff.

Age 15 (now) : I've gotten really lazy with anatomy ow >.> So I do alot of sketches of star trek and doctor who ideas while I'm watching TV. Though I'm trying to get back into drawing people atm

Around age 12, I saw Inuyasha for the first time. It's like I had a brain orgasm or something. Started drawing because I wanted to be the best, like no one ever was.

After that I watched way too much anime. I was a weaboo to the extreme. All of my characters had japanese names and I thought I was gonna be the next big thing in japan, ur hurr. Then, after I got over my bias against other forms of entertainment, I started liking american comics a bit more. It affected my style I think.

Now, I don't even know. xD

<13? 14? I forget. No real attempt at anything except oval-men. Which are like stickmen, except with ovals.
After that: I try to cobble together something resembling a style by copying features from stuff like EVA, Megaman NET(was that the name? I forget), Slayers, RANMA1/2, Lost Universe...
15 or so: I start high school. Still mostly manga-style stuff. Might have been around this point I start borrowing a little from DiTerlizzi, lineart-wise. Lots of Planescape & DnD fanart, here.
16: Around about when I found this place. Jubs convinced me to go for realism. Still working on that, Jubs.
18: High School is over. I know I want to animate, so I apply. Doesn't work out. I join a drawing course for a year. This is around where I get my tablet and realise how much I like pretty colours. :3
19: Drawing course is finished, I apply again. Terrible application, so not accepted. Try to improve my grades from high school while attending weekly figure drawing classes. Figures improve drastically. Trying to get rid of lines in my art on advice from old teacher.
20: Apply again. Rejected again. Working on original story ideas, for once. Trying to broaden my knowledge of differing media.

*e* Wait, Son, you're just 16? Whoa. I thought you were way older. :p

Age 9: Started drawing magical girls and then became disturbed by them[lol]?
Age 12: Tried random doodling and manga
Age 14: Trying a bit of semi realism :>

I got too much into manga/anime during middle school. Me and my bro would have 3 day marathons of Naruto over summer break xD

Saaay what? Your mom didn't like it so made you quit, or you decided to? My dad doesn't like the anime stuff either.
