Hey guys,

I have a bit of a problem.
i have a dificult time getting inspiration for my drawings.
what would you guys recomend to gain some inspiration?

I listen to music. Like techno or metal.

i listen to music as well (different genres, i ask other people for songs as well),, or take a walk outside(with a notebook) i usually get inspired by that but do note it or else you would forget it when you get home, or watch some anime or some reading... usually that does the trick for me

music. thats where i get all of mine. i also get inspiration from things like books, tv, movies, etc.

well, that's the problem i actually listen to music, but nothing happens.
movies and anime usually do the trick but my DVD player is broken.
what other things a bound to give your inspiration a little jumpstart?

did you try walking D: ? well looking at things helps.... can be anything like the sunset or the hairspraybottle D: ,, maybe looking at some art...? do some reading? watch random channels on tv maybe something interesting will pop up.
Also did you try to listen to different genres of music? and try to see what feeling you get when listening them? maybe you could put that feeling in a drawing.
But you have a pc and you can watch anime online ... and read manga online so ... why need a dvd player?
or you could watch some tut's to improve drawing, posemaniac and stuff maybe something will pop up when drawing

in case i didn't tell you guys yet, i don't own a computer myself.
the only times i have access to a computer is at school( or the company where i'm having my internship )
and i don't have the cash for cable tv at the moment...

Well, it's not normal, and probably won't help you, but when I draw I get inspiration from depression. Since my life has become really messed up and screwy, I've fallen into depression. I just tap into three basic forms of depression to make my manga:
1) Anger. This makes toward more vile and disturbing drawings, but it still inspires me.
2) Despair. This makes my visions of a perfect life pour into my art when I'm sad, but drawings of others suffering when I'm really sad.
3) Catastrophe. This makes my drawings more in-depth, and in times where I enter into this deep state of depression, several times I make an entire manga's plot.

Before depression, I'd tap into hapiness, so you can try that. For me, there were four basic states of hapiness.
1) Average. During an average state, I'd just sketch something and leave it as it was.
2) Happy. Happiness meant alot to me, so I'd do detailed skecthes and sometimes copy other peoples' work.
3) Excited. When I was excited, I'd sketch out a picture, then ink it. If I was REALLY excited, I'd color it.
4) Ecstatic. I'd make a manga's plot, edit it, and usually show it to others.

1. Doing anything not related to draw.
2. Reading manga, watching animes, playing video games.
3. Get back to your "real" life, inspiration could come from anywhere.

Blast some Korean house music. That is all.

Get away from the house, go outside. And enjoy the view. Come back some hours later, draw something amazing.

I usually skate..but you probably don't, so maybe you could kick puppies or something.

@Gunz - Lol. I just imagined a guy going out and booting a puppy down the street, then fist-pumping and taking out a drawing pad.

My ways to get inspired:

1. Pay ConceptArt.org a visit.
2. Remember that I'm gonna have to compete with people who practice every day for a job.
3. Draw something I enjoy drawing. There's no point unless it's fun.
4. Watch Lucky Star, which inspires me for some reason.
5. Know that I'll end up doing something I hate for the rest of my life if don't become a pro artist.
6. Revisit your original motives. Why did you start drawing? What are you aiming for?
