Yeah, painting hair is the bane of my existence. I can never get it right ;___;

I found it really hard until I really "gave up" on it, and started just doing whatever. Then the whatever became cool stuff, and I went on from there. I just kinda made shapes with watercolour or a similar tool, blocked in colours, then just blended and painted different stuff in. Just freestyle 8D

 For Nikki's contest smiley

The female is a handfish mermaid and the male is an axolotl mermaid xD

I decided to write an actual description: Both of these creatures live near the bottom of the oceans, however Axolotls live in MUCH deeper and darker waters. So I drew them near some kind of "ledge" which is why her Tail is behind the sand and rocks. She has this kind of sad/worried kind of expression since Axolotls hae trouble living nearer the surface, and they can't stay there for long. I dunno, sounded cute in my head xD

EDIT1: I finished the lineart. Are you KIDDING ME? The preview isn't working... Oh well, the fullview does
EDIT2: Started coloring!
EDIT3: Finished it, after an epoch of Chibi Paint failing on me and over 4 hours wasted coloring it, twice.

I hope you guys enjoy :3 The title was inspired by what Nikki said to the original xD
