 June 2004 Fantasy Contest

With summer fast approaching (at least here in NY), we've come to a time of vacations and getting away from it all. And there's nothing like "getting away from it all" than in fantasy! This month, entrys must be fantasy related whether in the traditional sense with dragons and all or more commonplace such as daydreams and the like.* Send in your finished entry to Rio at rio[at]mangatutorials[dot]com. Make sure you specify "June Contest" in your email.

* Due to the contents in the prize, MangaTutorials.com highly recommends that entrants be at least 14 years of age.

Orfina The Prize:
The first volume of the graphic novel Orfina by Kitsune Tennouji. 216 pages with 7 chapters, each about 30 pages long. Includes dust cover (image shown to the right), several pages in full color, and remaining pages in black and white with tones.
This is a fantasy genre manga with wonderful character designs, settings, and a catching story. If not for the story, this can be used as a reference for the excellent armors, weapons, and buildings and overall setting found throughout the book. Interestingly enough, aside from swords, there is also use of guns in this story.
Please note that there is bloodshed, death, fighting, and a nudity pic in this volume. MangaTutorials.com highly recommends that entrants should at least be 14 and up.

Rules:
1. Entries must be emailed by June 28th. Anything sent after will not be accepted.
2. Contest is open to anyone. Yes, including folks in other countries besides US. Entries from former winners will not be accepted.
3. One entry per person only. Hint: Pick your best and send it in! All forms of art welcome - black and white, cg drawings, watercolor, etc. 4. By entering, you give me the right to post up your artwork at this site and your name too, of course.
5. By submitting an entry to this contest, the entrant knows that the graphic novel, Orfina, contains bloodshed, death, fighting, and nudity and does not hold MangaTutorials.com responsible for any situation that occurs because of or relating to that should the entrant win.
6. Anyone breaking any of the rules will be disqualified. No and's, if's, or but's.

Privacy:
Your privacy is greatly respected at this site. If you would like to just use your first name and first letter of your last name (ex. Rio A.) or use an alias, we are okay with either one. Only the winner will be asked to send us his or her address and will be kept confidential. We'll only post what country he or she is located. All other entrants will not be asked to send in their address or other contact info aside from their email, of course.

One big factor riding on this image is it's simplicity. It's something you do not see that often in fantasy oriented images which usually has a lot of detail. It also shows a different take on elves particularly the outfit. Click on the image to see a larger version.
